01

The Cloth Selection

The foundation of a bespoke shirt lies entirely in the calibre of its cloth. We maintain a comprehensive archive of shirting fabrics, carefully sourced to provide comfort and endurance. Our selection encompasses fine Egyptian and Italian cottons, alongside breathable linens and textured seersucker for warmer climates. Whether one requires a crisp business standard or a relaxed weekend alternative, the drape and breathability of the cloth are paramount. We guide each client through the weave variations, observing how different cloths respond to pressing, wear, and varied environmental conditions throughout the day.

  • Egyptian and Italian cottons
  • Breathable linens and seersucker
  • Classic poplins and twills
  • Substantial oxford weaves
  • Pre-shrunk cloth selections

Cloth Preparation and Shrinkage Allowance

Precise fit requires an understanding of how cloth behaves over its lifespan. Cotton and linen naturally alter their dimensions upon first contact with water. To mitigate this, our shirting fabrics are pre-shrunk prior to the drafting stage. During the actual cutting of the pattern, our cutter deliberately allows for a residual shrinkage margin of two to three per cent. This calculated tolerance ensures that the shirt settles into its intended proportions after initial laundering, maintaining the exact collar measurement and sleeve length established during the consultation phase in our Bangkok fitting rooms.

  • Thorough pre-washing protocols
  • Residual shrinkage carefully calculated
  • Two to three per cent margin allowed at cutting
  • Proportions settle accurately after laundering

Collar Drafting and Construction

The collar frames the face and dictates the formality of the garment. Rather than relying on standardised blocks, we offer over twelve hand-cut collar styles, each drafted to harmonise with the wearer's neck length and jawline. This includes variations from extreme cutaways to classic points, as well as softer button-down structures. The internal architecture of the collar is equally critical; we utilise specific collar linings to dictate the exact degree of stiffness required. This ensures the collar stands correctly beneath a tailored jacket lapel, whether worn open or secured with a necktie.

  • Over twelve hand-cut collar styles
  • Individual face and neck assessment
  • Specific collar linings applied
  • Cutaway and classic point variations
  • Button-down collar structures available

Cuff Configurations

A correctly proportioned cuff anchors the sleeve and provides the necessary transition between the shirt and the jacket sleeve. Our bespoke commissions incorporate meticulous cuff construction, carefully tailored to accommodate the client's preferred wristwear and arm length. We craft traditional single cuffs for understated daily wear, formal double cuffs for link fastening, and the distinctive cocktail cuff for a quiet, sartorial statement. As with our collars, the application of precise cuff linings ensures structural integrity and visual crispness, maintaining a clean finish at the wrist regardless of the day's rigours.

  • Single cuffs for standard daily wear
  • Double cuffs for link fastening
  • Distinctive cocktail cuff styles
  • Appropriate cuff linings applied
  • Tailored wrist dimensions accommodated

Finishing and Monogramming

The finishing of a bespoke shirt requires a steady hand and a restrained aesthetic. We utilise fine, durable threads and closely spaced stitching to ensure longevity across all seams. Buttons are securely anchored to withstand regular laundering and wear. For clients seeking a personal identifier, we offer hand-embroidered monograms. This detailing is executed with absolute precision, typically positioned on the left ribcage, forearm, or cuff, depending on personal preference. It is a quiet mark of ownership, applied with the same exactitude that defines the fundamental architecture of the shirt itself.

  • Closely spaced seam stitching
  • Securely anchored shirting buttons
  • Hand-embroidered monograms available
  • Restrained monogram placement options
  • Exacting hand-finishing techniques

The Client Archive and Continuity

Establishing a bespoke shirt pattern is an investment in long-term sartorial continuity. Once the final fit is confirmed and the initial commission is complete, the client's individual paper pattern is carefully documented and retained in our archives. This allows for straightforward remote reordering in the future. Clients residing outside of Bangkok may simply select new fabrics by cloth reference, and we will cut their subsequent shirts from the established pattern. This ongoing relationship ensures a consistent, reliable fit, allowing a complete and varied shirting wardrobe to be built steadily over time.

  • Individual shirt pattern kept on file
  • Precise measurement records retained
  • Remote reorders facilitated easily
  • Fabric selection by cloth reference
  • Consistent long-term fit assured
