Tailored trousers and accessories laid out ready for a fitting appointment

Fitting a Bespoke Suit Into a Short Bangkok Trip

Most visitors have five days, a full itinerary and one afternoon they are willing to give to a tailor. That is enough for a properly made garment, provided the first appointment happens at the start of the trip rather than at the end. Here is how the days actually break down, and what we can do when the calendar is tighter than the work.

Planned around your days, not ours

Book first
Day one of your trip, ideally reserved by message before you land
Appointments
Two to three, each around forty-five minutes
If you leave early
Final fitting by video, garment shipped to your home address

The details

Considered guidance, from the first conversation to the final fit.

01

Day one: measurement and cloth

The first appointment is the longest and the one that sets everything after it. We discuss where the garment will be worn, take a full set of measurements, note posture and shoulder asymmetry, then select cloth, lining and finishing together. Come early in the trip and the rest of the schedule has room to breathe.

  • Allow forty-five minutes to an hour
  • Bring a jacket you already like the fit of, if you can
  • Bring the shoes you will wear with the trousers
  • Decide the occasion before the cloth
02

Day three: the intermediate fitting

By the middle of the trip the garment exists in an unfinished state, with the balance, shoulder and sleeve visible and still changeable. This is the appointment that separates a suit that fits from a suit that nearly fits, and it is worth protecting in the itinerary even when something else comes up.

03

Day five: final fitting and collection

The last appointment covers small refinements: trouser length over your shoes, sleeve showing the right amount of shirt cuff, and the waist adjusted to how the garment sits after a meal rather than on an empty stomach. Shirts and accessories ordered alongside are usually ready on the same day.

  • Wear the shirt and shoes intended for the suit
  • Check movement, not only the mirror
  • Small tweaks can be completed while you wait
  • Collection or same-day hotel delivery in central Bangkok
04

When you only have two days

Tell us at the first appointment and we will be direct about what is realistic. Some commissions can be compressed by prioritising the intermediate fitting and shipping the finished garment. Others should not be rushed, and we would rather say so than hand you a garment the workroom is not happy with.

05

Booking before you land

Send your dates and the garment you have in mind by message or email and we will hold appointment times against your itinerary. Visitors who do this arrive to cloth already shortlisted for their occasion and climate, which usually saves half of the first appointment.

  • Share arrival and departure dates
  • Say what the garment is for
  • Mention any deadline such as a wedding date
  • Send photographs of garments you like
06

After you fly home

Your pattern stays with the atelier, so a second commission needs no travel at all. Later orders are chosen from the cloth library, cut from the pattern we already hold and shipped to you, with any refinement from the first suit carried forward into the next.
